Tuesday Walks Calendar to end June 2017 

You are advised not go to the start of a walk without first getting in touch with the listed contact person for the walk.

Please note that all Tuesday walks leave from the car park of the Carraroe Retail Park (Curry's end) at 10.00 am. It is advisable to check the recommendations on our safety page, particularly if you intend doing a Challenging walk.

Tuesday 4th. July 2017  Raghly to Cloonagh bus to start


One of the most stunning coastal walks you could ever do. It will include a visit to the Bronze Age promontory fort at Knocklane.

This is a linear walk and a minibus will pick us up at the cars at the end point of the walk at Cloonagh, near Ballyconnell, and drop us off at the start of the walk at Raghly. From there we will walk back to the cars at Cloonagh. There is a charge of €5 pp for the bus, which will be collected by the walk contact person who in turn will pay the driver. If you wish to participate, it is essential that you text the walk  contact person well in advance to make sure of your place. 

Please note that we will  leave as usual at 10 am from the car park at Carraroe Retail Park after pooling cars. We will then drive to Cloonagh, the finish point of the walk, where we will be bussed to the start.

Distance: 12 km approximately. Duration: 4 hours. Difficulty: moderate. Terrain: Track, trail and road.  Quite flat, with only one sharp but short climb. Some passages of stony ground where care is required.  Contact:  Veronica Murphy 087 984 3253 and Vinny Blighe 086 156 3974

Tuesday 25th. July 2017 Slish Wood to Dromahair (on Sligo Way via Innisfree)

This is a linear walk and a minibus will pick us up at the cars at the end point of the walk at Dromahair and drop us off at the start of the walk at Slish Wood. From there we will walk back to the cars at Dromahair. There is a charge of €5 pp for the bus, which will be collected by the walk contact person who in turn will pay the driver. If you wish to participate, it is essential that you text the walk contact person well in advance to make sure that there are places for everybody. If necessary a second minibus can be provided.

Please note that we will  leave as usual at 10 am from the car park at Carrarroe retail Park after pooling cars. We will then drive to Dromahair, the finish point of the walk, where we will be bussed to the start at Slish Wood.

This is a linear walk and a minibus will pick us up at the cars at the end point of the walk at the foot of Keelogyboy and drop us off at the start of the walk at the foot of Castlegal. From there we will walk/crawl back to the cars at Keelogyboy. There is a charge of €5 pp for the bus, which will be collected by the walk leader who in turn will pay the driver. If you wish to participate, it is essential that you text the walk leader well in advance to make sure of your place.

Please note that we will  leave as usual at 10 am from the IT after pooling cars. We will then drive to Keelogyboy, the finish point of the walk, were we will be bussed to the start;
